I have added a special section exclusively for ladies watches. This is because some watches are simply made for ladies only. The top ten watches mentioned in the previous chapter can be applied to both men’s and ladies versions however there are some watches which are strictly ladies only.
Some watches have also changed gender as time has progressed. For example the original size of the gents Louis Cartier Tank would now be considered a ladies size. Some Patek Philippe gents watches were only 31mm in diameter when originally introduced. Recently Rolex revamped its sizes and relaunched the 36mm DateJust as a ladies size!
Some watches were only ever made as ladies watches. This includes the Patek Philippe 24 series and the Cartier Baignoire. Cartier is also famous for releasing “mini” size versions of its ladies watches for ladies who like a small profile watch.
Whereas quartz has taken a negative turn in gents watches over the past ten years the same can not be said of ladies watches. Prior to year 2000 most of Patek Philippe’s and Cartier’s ladies range was quartz.
Below are some stunning examples of quality ladies watches.
